At Caps and Closures, we rigorously investigate measures to reduce our carbon footprint, and we help our customers to reduce theirs by offering more sustainable solutions. Our goal is “as little as possible, as much as necessary” of our world’s resources. Not only is this good for business, but it is also the right thing to do for our social, economic and environmental responsibilities.
We are committed to a management plan of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and designing waste out of our process with a target towards a circular economy through the value chain. We will aim to maximise the use of renewable and recycled source materials, such as cartons, ensuring our packaging is environmentally friendly throughout the whole value chain.
Our design and engineering team dedicates to implementing methods to minimise environmental impacts without compromising the functionality and safety of our closures, including the disposal of used packaging, conserving resources through better production processes, light-weighting of closures and the efficient use of energy.
Caps and Closures is a proud signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant (APCO), a voluntary initiative between government and industry aimed at identifying solutions to address packaging sustainability issues.
Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation
Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is a co-regulatory not-for-profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia. APCO’s vision is a packaging value chain that collaborates to keep packaging materials out of landfill and retains the maximum value of the materials, energy and labour within the local economy.
Each year, as an APCO member, we are committed to constantly improving our sustainability efforts through endless collaboration, innovation and reflection in our search for better solutions, designs and materials.
